Challenges Challenges meet athletes needs by providing opportunities to compete and connect with other athletes worldwide. Needs will change and the Challenges will change with them. It is still difficult, if not impossible, for many athletes to find a competition in which they can participate – Challenges are their opportunity. Athletes, officials, administrators, family and friends expressed how much having this opportunity meant to them. Clearly, a worthwhile endeavor! Honoring Toronto2020 The Toronto2020 Team was working hard to provide the greatest WMA Championship ever for Masters Athletes. Through this challenge, we honor the Toronto2020 Team and The Greatest Meet That Almost Was. Thank you, Toronto Athletics Event Management Inc. Team for everything you did and wanted to do. Everyone involved with this event hopes we did a good job honoring your vision and work. It is evident that athletes much appreciated having an alternative for the WMA Championship. They made the best of adjusting to this unusual year. Some really embraced the spirit of a worldwide championship by competing in national uniforms and celebrating with their nation’s flag. This was the first time competing in a worldwide event or return after a long absence for several athletes. Providing the opportunity for them and bringing people together worldwide is what makes events like this truly special. Results Participants ranged from first time competitors to World Champions and Age Group World Record holders. Several first-time competitors were pleasantly surprised how they were competitive. Some athletes, without typical preparation, were able to surpass national and world records. View Results Diplomas Diplomas include athlete name, age group, allegiance, event, performance and Category. Athletes can add places if they want and as they choose. Lucida Calligraphy 36pt bold was used for the names in the diplomas. Lucida Calligraphy 28pt was used for everything else. Click on Diploma next to the athlete’s name to download all diplomas for that athlete. Results & Diplomas Awards Three sponsors provided awards for this Challenge. Axel Hermanns provided special trophies to the highest male and female scores in the Throws Pentathlon. An anonymous sponsor provided crystal trophies to three male and female long jumpers. MastersRankings.com provided crystal trophies and medals recognizing special accomplishments.
